The condensed matter and quantum optics division at Stockholm University invites applicants for a postdoctoral position in condensed matter theory. The focus of this position is on the interplay of correlations and topology in semi-metallic systems, including topological properties of systems with spontaneously broken symmetry.

Responsibilities: The applicant is expected to take major responsibility for pursuing several research projects in the field of topological semimetals, in collaboration with the rest of the research group. This work is expected to be mainly analytical, though some numerics may also be required.

Qualification requirements: Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a doctoral degree. A suitable background is a Ph.D. in theoretical physics specializing in theoretical condensed matter physics, high energy physics, or mathematical physics. Assessment criteria: The successful applicant will be selected based on documented knowledge relevant to the area of study. Analytical skills are absolutely essential. Knowledge of Weyl semimetals, topological band theory, and Majorana physics are highly meritorious. A high level of personal motivation and team working skills is also crucial. Well-developed English language skills are required. Programming skills are appreciated, though not critical. In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills. The applicants are encouraged to provide supporting documents that substantiate qualifications. References and interviews will be used to assess the qualifications of the applicants.

Application: Please provide your CV and list of publications to johan.carlstrom@fysik.su.se. You may arrange for up to three letters of recommendation to be sent to johan.carlstrom@fysik.su.se.

Terms of employment: The position involves full-time employment for two years. The starting date is negotiable, but should preferably take place during the spring of 2021. Applications will be evaluated continuously, and it is possible for a candidate to start already during the fall of 2020.
