A postdoctoral researcher in gravitational wave cosmology is sought to join the Cosmology and Relativity Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Queen Mary University of London. The successful applicant should have existing expertise in cosmological aspects of gravitational waves, broadly defined, and be highly motivated to contribute to new developments in this area. The successful researcher will join the group led Dr. Tessa Baker, as part of the ERC-funded programme SHADE. Aspects of the SHADE programme include (but are not limited to): development of statistical siren techniques, theoretical work on gravitational waves (e.g. deviations from General Relativity, gravitational wave lensing), correlations with large-scale structure, simulations, and the relevance of such phenomena for current and future facilities. The post is a full time, fixed term appointment for 3 years, with an expected start date of April-October 2022 (negotiable). The starting salary will be in the range of £34,733 - £38,655 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. To apply, you will need to have (or be close to completing) a PhD in Physics, Mathematics or a related subject, and a history of publications and seminars appropriate to your career stage. You should include with your application: a CV, a statement of current skills and proposed research (no longer than two A4 sides), and a list of publications (please highlight up to five as the most relevant). Please consolidate all this information in a single PDF file, and upload it as your CV in our on-line application system. You should also arrange for two letters of reference to be emailed to s.kulandaivelu@qmul.ac.uk by the application deadline. Informal enquiries should be addressed to Dr. Tessa Baker at t.baker@qmul.ac.uk or on +44 (0) 20 7882 5867. Details about the department can be found at www.qmul.ac.uk/spcs/physics-and-astronomy/

The closing date for applications is 1st December 2021. Interviews are expected to be held shortly thereafter.
