Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP), the first ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy in Orange County, California, seeks an excellent candidate to contribute to the research and teaching missions of the School of Pharmacy in the area of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The research areas of the current department faculty are diverse and include immunology/virology, drug discovery, molecular pharmacology, drug delivery, and pharmacokinetics. This is a full-time, calendar-year, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor. The faculty of the department teach various areas of biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences to PharmD and graduate (MS and PhD) students and are actively engaged in impactful, extramurally-supported research. We are interested in candidates who have already developed or have demonstrated a potential for development of a strong extramurally-funded research program in the areas that are complementary to those of the current faculty. Candidates with expertise and experience in teaching in various areas of pharmaceutical sciences, specifically in pharmacology and pharmaceutics/drug delivery are especially encouraged to apply.

CUSP offers PharmD and MS/PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences programs that address the challenges of tomorrow in the field of pharmacy and drug discovery and development. The facilities consist of modern classrooms and state-of-the-art research laboratories, core facilities, and equipment. Qualifications

Required: • PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related disciplines from an accredited institution with at least two years of post-doctoral experience. • A strong record of peer-reviewed research publications. • Evidence of grantsmanship such as grant writing training and/or drafts of research proposals (for the rank of Assistant Professor) • Active transferrable research funding (for the rank of Associate or full Professor) • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred: • Evidence of successful mentorship of undergraduate, professional, or graduate students • Teaching experience in pharmaceutical or biomedical sciences • Teaching experience in a US university • Teaching experience in pharmaceutics/drug delivery or pharmacology courses

Responsibilities

• Establish (Assistant Professor rank) or transfer (Associate or full Professor rank) a strong, extramurally-funded research program. • Mentor graduate, PharmD, and undergraduate students in their research. • Teach in an accelerated, year-round PharmD program and in MS/PhD graduate programs. • Participate in the service activities of the Department, School, and University

Chapman University offers a relocation expense reimbursement package. Successful completion of a background check is required for the final candidate. This position is contingent upon final budget approval. The salary range for this Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position is $135,000-$250,000.
