| The Department of Public Management and Policy seeks a tenure-track assistant or associate professor with research interests in nonprofit management to start in Fall 2023. Applicants should provide evidence of teaching and research excellence and of success or strong potential in obtaining sponsored research. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can contribute to the department’s teaching needs in nonprofit classes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels including but not limited to nonprofit courses in management and leadership, resource development, advocacy and law, and human resource management. Applicants should also show a commitment to the department’s mission of preparing a diverse population of students to become leaders in public service careers and see a place for themselves in the school’s ongoing Digital Landscape initiative which includes policy analytics and research on vulnerable populations and communities.
The Department of Public Management and Policy focuses on four areas of excellence: management and finance of public and nonprofit organizations; nonprofit management and policy; program evaluation and policy analysis; and economic development and urban policy. The Andrew Young School ranks 20th overall among 285 graduate programs in public affairs in the US News 2023 rankings, as well as 4th in urban policy, 6th in public budgeting and finance, 9th in local government management, 9th in nonprofit management, and 17th in public management and leadership.
