The Theoretical Particle Physics group at Carleton University anticipates filling a three-year Postdoctoral Fellow position to start in the Fall of 2018, with the third year conditional on performance and funding availability. The first two years of this position are funded as part of the Canadian Particle Astrophysics Research Centre (CPARC,; therefore, we are seeking candidates with research experience and interests in theoretical astroparticle physics that are relevant to the suite of experiments that are currently operational or under development at SNOLAB, To promote connections with CPARC researchers at other institutions in Canada, the position will include up to $6,000 per year of travel funding which can be used for conference and workshop travel as well as to visit other CPARC institutions for collaboration and dissemination of results.

The Theoretical Particle Physics group consists of five faculty members: B. Campbell, S. Godfrey, T. Gregoire, H. Logan, and D. Stolarski. We will also have two continuing postdocs in particle physics phenomenology in addition to the advertised position. The main interest of the theory group is particle physics phenomenology. Most recently, members of the group have worked on Higgs phenomenology, dark matter phenomenology, and physics beyond the Standard Model as can be studied at the LHC and future e+e- and hadron colliders. We are also involved in aspects of hadron physics and astroparticle physics. The experimental program at Carleton includes the DEAP dark matter search experiment at SNOLAB, the EXO experiment searching for neutrinoless double beta decay, the ATLAS collaboration at the LHC, and detector development for ATLAS, SNOLAB, and the International Linear Collider experiment.
