Position: Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacology/Clinical Pharmacology The Department of Medical Pharmacology at Koç University School of Medicine invites applications and nominations for full-time faculty positions starting as early as Fall 2023.

Requirements: We are looking for an inspiring and connecting researcher and future intellectual and professional leader of the Department of Medical Pharmacology of the Koç University School of Medicine (KUSOM) who • holds the Medical Doctor (MD) degree. • plus, holds a specialization or PhD degree in Pharmacology/Clinical Pharmacology/Medical Pharmacology. • has a strong research track record in mechanistic, pharmacological, and clinical research (testing, explaining, and predicting drug effects in humans based on mechanistic, molecular, and pathophysiological knowledge and biomarker measurements). • has experience in conducting, coordinating clinical trials including Phase-I. • is an independent vigorous researcher with experience in coordinating research projects and/or international research collaborations. • has scientific creativity and productivity, as evident in recent publications in (international) peer-reviewed journals. • has proven the ability to obtain competitive research funding. • has experience in teaching and coordinating undergraduate and graduate courses; • is willing to supervise MSc, PhD, and Post-Doc students. • is fluent in English. • is effective and efficient, able to work within international/multidisciplinary teams and think conceptually. • has good communication and social skills.

The Department of Medical Pharmacology consists of highly competent faculty members at national and international levels. The Department's research fields cover fundamental and clinical pharmacological research, focus in mainly on • Autonomic integration, inflammation, experimental disease models, 3R, bioethics, ethics committees, rational pharmacotherapy. • Clinical pharmacology, pharmaco-epidemiological (observational) studies, pharmacovigilance, clinical trials (Phase 1-4). • Molecular pharmacology, cancer biology, chemotherapy resistance in cancer, systems pharmacology.

There are strong networks between the Department and research institutions, other public and private universities, and university hospitals at national and international levels.
