Postdoctoral Fellow – Biologics discovery
The Pardee Lab is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow with biologics discovery experience to help drive an industry-sponsored project focused on peptide-based drug discovery and development.

 The group offers a collaborative mission-driven environment with a dedication to innovation and interdisciplinary research. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively conducting research with others in a collaborative and stimulating environment.

 Qualifications:
  • A PhD degree in a relevant subject (e.g., biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology);
  • Minimum 3 years of technical experience within the field of specialization (including PhD training);
  • Strong experience with developing and troubleshooting in vitro & cell assays towards hit-to-lead validation of therapeutic biologics (including high-throughput assays)
  • Experience with biophysical characterization of biologics (e.g. target binding and kinetics) and related techniques
  • A track record of identifying and solving scientific problems using creative approaches;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as effectively with a diverse group of interdisciplinary researchers;
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational, project management and record-keeping skills aligned to the lab’s unwavering commitment to quality
  • Eligible to work in Canada and the US

 Furthermore, the role involves working directly with other lab members who are also contributing to the project, as well as external managers who oversee the project on behalf of the sponsor. Responsibilities include interim reporting to the sponsor (and occasionally to the sponsor’s scientific advisors who include the world’s foremost leaders in synthetic biology and therapeutics discovery) and working towards milestone-driven deadlines. Therefore, maintenance of meticulous records is crucial.

 Other activities involve generating publications, contributing to grants and regular progress reports, and mentorship of students.

 You will be relied on as a key technical contributor to the project who is trusted to make decisions based on your unique skill sets and knowledge. This opportunity allows you to directly impact research that has the potential to address significant unmet medical needs. Additionally, you will gain exposure to the biotech commercialization process and further develop your project management and presentation skills.

 Interested candidates should email their CV / Resume and a cover letter to Prof. Keith Pardee.
