Position Description

Job Title: Research Associate Length of Commitment: 12 months (renewable) Language Requirement: None required, Bangla or Urdu preferred • Occupational Summary: A Research Associate position is available at the Duke Development Economics Lab (DevLab@Duke) within the Duke University Department of Economics. The Research Associate will collaborate with Professor Erica Field and co-PIs on applied experimental micro-economic development research on child marriage in Bangladesh OR gender and labor in Pakistan and will also be expected to engage in unique independent research of high quality. The position typically lasts one year but may be extended based on mutual interest. This position will be in-person and based in DevLab@Duke. The Research Associate will be expected to participate in the academic and intellectual life of the department and lab and to contribute to lab activities, advancement, and community building.

• Desired Qualifications and Experience: Qualifying candidates will have recently completed their PhD in economics. Individuals from under-represented populations are particularly encouraged to apply. Experience living and working in Bangladesh and fluency in Bangla, or in Pakistan and fluency in Urdu, will be distinct advantages.
