The T-2 group (Nuclear and Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology) in the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory invites applications for one or more postdoctoral positions in High-Energy Physics Theory, to begin in Fall 2018. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in high-energy theory or a closely related field by the beginning of the postdoctoral appointment (but no earlier than January 2013 per LANL policy). This position would be for 2 + 1 years, with the third year contingent upon performance and funding.

The group has six full time staff members in High-Energy Physics Theory (Daniele Alves, Tanmoy Bhattacharya, Michael Graesser, Rajan Gupta, Pedro Machado, and Emil Mottola). There is active collaboration with nuclear theorists in T-2, and we have close ties with our colleagues in astrophysics, cosmology, and experimental physics. We conduct research on a broad set of topics, including collider phenomenology, dark matter, gauge theories, gravity, lattice gauge theory, and neutrino physics. Candidates in these areas are strongly encouraged to apply.

Exceptionally well qualified candidates may be considered for a Director's Postdoctoral Fellowship or a Distinguished Fellowship (Curie, Feynman, or Oppenheimer).

Los Alamos is an equal opportunity employer. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Interested applicants should submit their applications (CV, research statement, and list of publications) on academicjobsonline.org and arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation uploaded on your behalf. Please note the following two deadlines: To be considered for one of the Fellowships, applicants must submit their application by Oct. 18th, 2017. Applications for a post-doctoral position should be submitted by December 11th, 2017, for full consideration.

For eligibility and salary information, please see LANL Postdoc Eligibility and LANL Postdoctoral Salary Guidelines.
