Description

The Center for Particle Cosmology at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship to begin September 2024.

The fellowship is in theoretical particle cosmology, broadly interpreted, ranging from the formal to the phenomenological sides of the field. The successful candidate will have interests that overlap significantly with those of Profs. Mark Trodden and Justin Khoury, but will be free to work on topics of his/her choice, and encouraged to collaborate with other students, postdocs and faculty at Penn. The Center for Particle Cosmology spans a broad swath of theoretical physics, ranging from theoretical astrophysics to high energy theory. We also have a lively experimental program in cosmology and particle physics, with involvement in DES, LSST, other galaxy and CMB surveys and particle physics experiments with Penn leadership. More information on the research activities of the Center is available at https://particlecosmo.sas.upenn.edu.

The initial appointment is for one year, renewable up to three years, and offers competitive salary, benefits, and research allowance. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, brief description of research interests, and arrange for three letters of reference. The names of the people who will be submitting letters of recommendation should be listed in the application. Consideration of applications will begin on Dec. 1, 2023. The Department of Physics and Astronomy, the School of Arts and Sciences, and the University of Pennsylvania are committed to creating a community of students, scholars, and staff that reflects the diversity of the world we live in. We create working and learning environments that are affirming, equitable, and inclusive. As a community, we value dynamic interactions and thoughtful discussions, and strive for an environment where everyone is supported and valued.
