The Department of Human Physiology at the University of Oregon invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to beginFall 2023. 

This position is part of a Provost-sponsored initiative aimed at creating a cluster of excellence for research focused on health promotion and chronic disease prevention. The Health Promotion Initiative at the University of Oregon currently includes faculty members in Counseling Psychology and HumanServices, Special Education and Clinical Sciences, and Biology. The candidate will have a primary appointment in the department of Human Physiology.The Department of Human Physiology has a range of strengths in both clinical and preclinical models in areas of cardiovascular, respiratory and muscle physiology, neuroscience/motor control, cell signaling and metabolism, and biomechanics. 

Candidates for the position should have a research focus that builds on the existing multi-disciplinary Health Promotion Initiative and enhances research at the intersection of health and/or health behaviors (e.g., physical activity, nutrition). Although applicants whose work involves humans or animals will be considered, successful candidates will demonstrate the ability and willingness to collaborate with current research initiatives focused on humans.
