The Physics Department at Princeton University expects to have postdoctoral or more senior positions available in theoretical gravitational physics, broadly defined, nominally starting September 1, 2018. The initial appointment will be for one year, with renewal contingent on continued funding and satisfactory performance. A PhD in Physics, Astrophysics, or a related area at the time the appointment begins is required.

The successful candidate's research will focus on topics related to gravitational physics. This could include studies of astrophysical sources of gravitational waves and their possible electromagnetic counterparts, black hole formation, high speed black hole collisions, the nature of singularities, early universe cosmology, and gravity in higher dimensions.
