Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Faculty Fellow

The Bioinformatics Graduate Program at Boston University is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral research and teaching position, which will provide an opportunity to develop teaching skills while conducting research in one of the many research labs affiliated with the Bioinformatics Program.

The 12-month position will be 20% research and 80% teaching and academic advising, with the Fellow serving as Instructor for up to three computational biology courses per calendar year in the Bioinformatics Master’s Degree Program. Fellows are encouraged to pursue independent research in collaboration with a BU Principal Investigator. The Fellow will be appointed for a two-year term and will receive a salary plus benefits, and funding for conference travel and other instructional and/or research-related expenses.

Applicants must have completed the Ph.D. by the start of the fellowship term and no earlier than three years before the start of the fellowship.  Fellows will be selected based on scholarly promise, interest in teaching, and the applicant’s professional objectives and alignment of those objectives with faculty projects in the Bioinformatics Program. The fellowship start date is flexible.  Applicants must submit the following materials: cover letter, including a proposed start date, a complete CV, a statement (2-4 pages) describing in detail how the applicant’s academic, employment, and/or personal experience and achievements demonstrate a commitment to teaching at a university level, and an overview of career goals, including teaching goals in a future faculty position; a research proposal for the Fellowship period (3-5 pages);at least three letters of recommendation
