The cosmology and astrophysics group in the Leinweber Center for Theoretical Physics (LCTP) at the University of Michigan welcomes applications for a LCTP Postdoctoral Research Fellowship position starting in the Fall of 2022. The fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with students, postdocs, and faculty working on a range of topics including theoretical and computational cosmology, large-scale structure survey analysis, gravity and multi-messenger physics, and early universe physics. Current LCTP faculty members in cosmology and astrophysics include Fred Adams, Camille Avestruz, Gus Evrard, and Dragan Huterer, and the group welcomes new research ideas and proposals. Synergistic activities in the Physics Department at UM include involvement with the ongoing Dark Energy Survey (DES) and Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) analyses, institutional membership with Simons Observatory (SO), and preparations for the Vera C. Rubin Observatory’s Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). The department aims to provide an inclusive environment with faculty mentorship and activities that nurture scientific and professional growth.
