The School of International Letters and Cultures at Arizona State University invites applications for a Lecturer position in Arabic Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach lower and/or upper division courses in Arabic in on-ground, hybrid, and/or online settings. Responsibilities will include teaching 8 courses (4 per semester) in Arabic Studies, including Literature (classical and modern), culture, media, philosophical literature, and/or language within SILC. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible appointment made on an academic year basis (Aug 16 - May 15). Anticipated start date is August 2018. Note, this position is for one academic year only.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree or Ph.D in Arabic Studies or related field by time of appointment and native/near-native proficiency in Arabic; evidence of effective Arabic teaching at the post-secondary level.

Desired Qualifications: 1) Demonstrated expertise in the field of Arabic Studies. 2) Demonstrated experience in teaching Arabic at the university level. 3) Ability to integrate new media technologies across the Arabic Studies curriculum.
