The Department of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral associate position in Computational Linguistics, extendable by mutual agreement to a second year, effective July 2022. We especially encourage applications from candidates who see their research as relevant to central questions of linguistic theory, addressed from a computational perspective, broadly construed. The successful applicant will be expected to interact with the students and faculty of MIT Linguistics and to participate actively in the intellectual life of the department, and will teach one graduate or undergraduate course each semester, on topics to be arranged.

Applicants should submit (1) a curriculum vitae, (2) copies of up to three representative research papers, (3) a research statement, and (4) a brief (two pages or less) statement outlining plans for research and teaching during the course of the postdoctoral associate position. In addition, the application should include contact information for three referees.

Review of applications will begin December 13, 2021.
