The Becker Laboratory seeks a Postdoctoral Associate who is interested in polymer chemistry and optical characterization to work on a funded interdisciplinary project focused on developing translationally relevant solutions to challenges in intraocular lens development and fabrication.
The interested candidate will focus on new chemical approaches to controlling molecular architecture and refractive index of polymeric materials and assemblies that control focal lengths as a function of lens shape and deformation.
The Becker Laboratory for Functional Biomaterials is a multidisciplinary research team that is developing soft matter solutions for unmet medical needs. While working across a number of biomaterial platforms, we are collectively focused on translationally relevant method development that affords the precise placement of bioactive species on degradable polymers. It is a welcoming ecosystem that values diversity and values individual training and professional development.
