The Duke Chemistry Department is seeking one full-time teaching postdoctoral associate for a fixed two-year term. The associate will be the instructor of record for one section of preparatory chemistry (Chem 99) or general chemistry (Chem 101/210) each term.

In consultation with the director of undergraduate studies, the postdoc will develop course content including lectures, practice problems, and exams. The associate will be expected to hold weekly office hours and mentor/train teaching assistants for their courses. The total enrollments average 50 – 100 students depending upon the class and semester. For the research component, the individual will work with the ChemEd@Duke research group with flexibility to explore different research avenues including the development of new instruments to gauge problem solving abilities, development and assessment of new CURE laboratory activities, and development of new paradigms for active learning activities in lecture and laboratory.
