We are looking for a highly self-motivated postdoctoral researcher in the areas of machine learning, computer vision, and perception. The projects involved will include learning with limited labeled data (zero/few-shot learning, semi-supervised learning, domain adaptation, and transfer learning) as well as multi-modal/multi-dataset/multi-task learning. All of these projects will involve development of deep learning and statistical methods for analyzing raw high-dimensional and complex data across several modalities (images, videos, depth from structure from motion or LIDAR, etc.). The position will involve joining a fast-growing group of M.S. and Ph.D. students as well as leading high-impact research culminating in high-quality publications to the top machine learning, computer vision, and robotics conferences and journals. More specifically, the post-doctoral researcher will be responsible for developing theory and algorithms for scene understanding problems (object detection, segmentation, and 3D estimation) with information from multiple sources and modalities (e.g. images and depth) and limited amounts of labeled data. Responsibilities include formulating the fundamental machine learning problems, developing new principled approaches , implementing approaches in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, and conducting thorough experimental designs to validate the approaches. The researcher will work closely with the PI and Ph.D. students on these problems.

An earned doctorate is required by the start of the appointment, and a background check must be completed prior to employment.
