The Stanford Physics Department invites applications for a Senior Lecturer position to begin in Autumn quarter 2022. This position is a full-time, twelve-month, benefits-eligible appointment. The initial appointment is for a term of 5 years with possible reappointment after that. The duties involve teaching introductory physics courses during the academic year and the summer quarter, possibly in partnership with a faculty member, and assisting the department in a major restructuring of the introductory physics courses, both in terms of the course sequences offered and the curriculum and pedagogy of the courses. The Senior Lecturer should be knowledgeable in curriculum and course design, including effective pedagogy and equitable assessment, as well as in evaluating the success of new offerings, and able to work collaboratively with faculty in the course restructuring process.
