The Department of Animal Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs on the biology and management of food, laboratory, and companion animal species. Our research programs advance our understanding of animal biology and address local and global issues facing animal industries today. Our goals are to discover and develop new techniques and information to benefit animals, agriculture, and human health. What You Will Do We are looking for two (2) Postdoctoral Associates for developing novel enzymes to improve global nutrition security and environmental sustainability. These positions will be supported by the Dr. Xinliang Li (B. S., Hunan Agricultural University; M.S., Sichuan Agricultural University; Ph.D., Washington State University, and Postdoc., University of Georgia) Research Fund. The selected candidates will perform their postdoctoral research in a well-established and highly active molecular nutrition laboratory with prior success in developing bacterial phytases for the global feed industry. We are seeking highly motivated, ambitious, and creative individuals with strong Ph.D. training in biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, nutrition or closely related fields. Supervision Exercised Candidates will have opportunities to help supervise undergraduate and graduate researchers in the lab. This is a full-time position and will be located in Ithaca, New York. This is a 1-year appointment with possible extension. Future possible extensions depend on funding and performance.
