Position Description: Benedictine University Department of Nutrition invites applications for a professional faculty appointment as Instructor or Assistant Professor, starting August 2018.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Teaching, as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. The normal load would be four courses per term, including Medical Nutrition Therapy, Advanced Menu Planning Lab, and Food Operations and/or Food Science courses.  Other courses based on areas of practice expertise.

·        Food Lab Coordinator.

·        Participate in advising, mentoring, and recruitment of undergraduate students.

·        As a member of the faculty, participate in department meetings, curricular development and ongoing program review.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Earned graduate degree in Nutrition or a closely related field with at 18 or more graduate credit hours in nutrition.

·        Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by CDR.

·        At least three years of professional work experience in medical nutrition-related settings post credentialing as RD/RDN.

·        Demonstrated ability of effective teaching.

·        Demonstrated ability to utilize technology and online delivery methods.

 

Preferred qualifications:

·        Familiarity with accreditation standards by ACEND.

·        Managerial and/or leadership experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact successfully and work harmoniously with colleagues and students in a diverse community
