The experimental high energy physics group at the University of Iowa is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position working on DUNE at Fermilab. The group is actively involved in construction of the Far Detector (Vertical Drift) with efforts at CERN and at Iowa, Near Detector (Liquid Argon TPC) with commissioning studies and ND-LAr reconstruction. We expect the successful applicant to be based at Fermilab so as to participate in the ND-LAr 2x2 demonstrator as well as work on ND-LAr reconstruction algorithms and physics studies. They will work with Professors Jane Nachtman and Yasar Onel and will also have the opportunity to work with graduate and undergraduate students. The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field, completed before the start of the position. Applicants should have a strong record of accomplishments in data analysis, and interest or experience in detector development, construction, or operation. Desired qualifications include research experience in collider neutrino physics, experience in using machine learning algorithms in particle physics, the willingness to work with students, and the willingness to relocate to Fermilab.
