Position Description:

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a dynamic new university established over 30 years ago, yet it is already highly ranked. The University has established the Center for Fundamental Physics (CFP) (http://cfp.ust.hk/cgi-bin/cfp/eng/message.php), with faculty affiliated with HKUST Department of Physics and/or HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), including Andrew Cohen, Tao Liu, Kam-Biu Luk, Kirill Prokofiev, George Smoot, Henry Tye and Yi Wang.

The CFP invites applications for postdoctoral positions effective from July 2024 or earlier in the areas of theoretical particle physics, particle astrophysics and cosmology (duration: 2 years, renewable upon good performance and mutual agreement). The appointee is expected to participate in broadly defined studies in these areas.

Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits in Hong Kong including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  For truly exceptional cases, a promotion to non-tenure-track research assistant professor is possible.
