The Department of Romance Studies at Boston University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in French, beginning July 1, 2027. Candidates must have superior to native oral and written proficiency in French and English, a Master’s degree or PhD in French, Second Language Acquisition, or a related field, and at least three years of college-level teaching experience. We seek individuals who demonstrate excellence in student-centered teaching and a commitment to inclusive and innovative language teaching practices. Responsibilities include teaching six courses per year, from beginning to advanced language and culture, coordinating multi-section language courses, leveraging digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning, and contributing to curriculum development in a dynamic and collaborative language program. Ability to teach Italian or Spanish would be an asset. The starting salary for this position is $72,000. The position offers a professional career track with possibilities for advancement.
