Postdoctoral Associate - Cornell University - Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science

The Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science at Cornell University invites applicants for a Postdoctoral Associate position in time-domain astronomy with Professor Anna Ho starting in September 2026 or before if negotiated. The position requires a Ph.D., and experience with transient observations (at any wavelength). The position is for one year, with subsequent renewals depending on performance and the availability of funds.

The successful candidate will lead and contribute to projects in one or more of a variety of topics, such as gamma-ray bursts, supernovae, and fast blue optical transients. The applicant will have the opportunity to work with data from, and contribute preparatory work to, major facilities across the electromagnetic spectrum including the Zwicky Transient Facility, the Rubin Observatory, ULTRASAT, the Simons Observatory, and the DSA.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
