Position Description:    

Prof. Vibha Kalra’s research group at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY, USA) is seeking applicants for two postdoctoral associate positions on “Next Generation Batteries”. The project(s) will involve material development for next generation batteries, advanced electrochemical, spectroscopic, and microscopic characterizations (including in-situ/in-operando) and battery recycling. An ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: solid electrolytes, in-situ/in-operando characterizations, metal anodes, electrode-electrolyte interfaces, high voltage cathodes, and battery recycling. The postdoctoral scholar will be expected to actively participate in a collaborative environment, design independent, hypothesis-driven research projects, successfully carry out the proposed research, and disseminate their findings via peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations.

Qualifications 

·         Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or related field.

·         Strong background in batteries.

·         Experience with different characterization techniques. In-operando characterization experience is a plus

·         Proven record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.

·         Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Compensation:


Postdoctoral $56,484 -$80,000 annually

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
