Position Description
Prof. Vibha Kalra’s research group at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY, USA) is seeking applicants for a research associate position on “Next Generation Batteries”. The project(s) will involve material development for next generation batteries, advanced electrochemical, spectroscopic, and microscopic characterizations (including in-situ/in-operando), battery assembly and testing. Prior experience in solid state synthesis/electrolytes, and Li-ion cathodes is a plus. Research responsibilities include the following: (1) designing hypothesis-driven research projects and successfully carrying out the proposed research in a collaborative environment, (2) writing and contributing to journal articles and presenting at academic and professional conferences; (3) collaboratively mentoring postdocs and students with the PI; 5) developing and assisting with research proposals; and (5) helping in advancing the strategic vision of Kalra Lab.

Qualifications
·
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials
Science, Chemistry, Physics or related field.
·
Strong background in batteries.
·
Experience with different
characterization techniques.
·
Proven record of publications in
peer-reviewed journals.
·
Excellent written and oral communication
skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment. Experience with
assisting in or writing proposals in a plus.
Compensation:
Research
Associate $56,484 -$80,000
annually

Pay Ranges:
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
- Prior relevant work or industry experience.
- Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
- Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
- Unique applicable skills.
