Faculty Position in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Cornell University The SIBLEY SCHOOL OF MECHANICAL AND AEROSPACE ENGINEERING AT CORNELL UNIVERSITY, Ithaca, NY invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the general area of Fluid and Energy Sciences. The department particularly welcomes applications from outstanding innovators at the interface between fluids and other disciplines of relevance to Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and interested in building a fluid-focused experimental or computational research program in the areas of sustainability, climate change, high speed and energetic processes, propulsion, biomechanics, robotics, or any other relevant application areas. Candidates whose research aligns with the College of Engineering strategic directions or with the strategic discipline areas outlined in Cornell’s radical collaborations initiative are encouraged to apply as well. Excellent candidates engaged in other aspects of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering will also be considered.

Candidates must hold a doctorate in an appropriate field and are expected to establish an outstanding, externally funded research program as well as to contribute fully to both undergraduate and graduate instruction in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. While applications at the level of Assistant Professor are strongly encouraged, applications at all levels will be considered. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
