Position Description
The Biology Department is looking for a Visiting Scholar who will act as a Teaching Assistant for Bio 202L. Responsibilities are listed below: • Teach lab section (lead): 2.5 hours • Facilitate weekly group problem solving activities: 1.5 hours • Proctor course exams (3 per semester): 1.5 hours x 3 occasions. • Photocopy/Sort exams (3 occasions, TAs will sign up for one of these duties for the semester): 1-2 hours • Attend lectures (includes walking around during problem solving to check in with students): 2 x 1.25 hrs (2.5 hours) • Emailing with students (in regards to lab logistics, questions about the course, etc.) : ~1-2 hours • Help desk (office) hours: 1 hour • Grading: weekly grading of your section’s lab assignments (~1 hour of grading). The Visiting Scholar Position requires a degree of a PhD.
