Position Description

The Department of Evolutionary Anthropology at Duke University is seeking applications for a Associate in Research with the Hare Group at Duke University to begin as early as May 1, 2026.

Your duties will include managing the coordination of the collaboration between the Hare group Duke and other NC State researchers we are working with, including planning the studies, supervising data collection, liaison between our group and staff of other research groups; participating in/overseeing comparative research at the Duke Canine Cognition Center and Lemur Centers; overseeing research with animals at other research sites (possibly including wolves); overseeing people’s perceptions and attitudes towards animals; monitoring ethics approvals and updating protocols; ordering lab equipment and maintaining lab organization; help with arrangements for travel, conferences, and lab meetings; working with department management in organizing receipts for lab expenditures; edit research papers and help format references; and help with other tasks as needed. This position requires a minimum degree of a BS/BA.
