Position Description
The Department of Evolutionary Anthropology at Duke University is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Associate with the Emery Thompson lab at Duke University to begin as early as July 1, 2026. This position is in support of research integrating physiological biomarkers with demographic and behavioral data from a longitudinal study of aging and health in wild chimpanzees. Your duties will include oversight of wet laboratory activities, including running assays, upkeep of supplies, equipment, and safety protocols, quality control, and data management, as well as quantitative analysis across multiple sources of data. The postdoc is expected to lead research publications and collaborate with the PIs and other lab members to develop empirical data and research aims. This is a full-time research position. Minimum Qualifications: (1) a PhD in Anthropology, Biology, or a related field (or evidence that the candidate has completed all of the PhD degree requirements); (2) demonstrated expertise (e.g., peer-reviewed publications) with wet laboratory techniques in endocrinology, immunology, and/or genetics; (3) research experience in mammalian biology.
