Position Description

The School of Medicine and Department of Evolutionary Anthropology at Duke University are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Associate who will contribute to the teaching of medical students in Medical Human Gross Anatomy (including neuroanatomy) as well as other anatomically-based medical school courses at an advanced and clinical level. Candidates will also be involved in new curriculum development including radiological imaging of cadaveric specimens for teaching and research. Candidates will be expected to participate in research of any type in association with faculty in the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology, Biology, or other appropriate departments including in the School of Medicine or other aspects of curriculum development. This is a position designed for early career scientists. Applicants with previous experience teaching anatomy at some level will be favored. This position requires a PhD.

Appointment may be renewed annually based on performance and funding availability for up to three years. The length of initial and renewal appointments is based on multiple factors, including experience, performance, and budgetary considerations. Teaching and research performance are evaluated annually, with renewal based on these evaluations.

The start date for this position is July 1, 2026.
