Duke University Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) Clinical Faculty Position

The Duke Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking a BC/BE Occupational Medicine Physician for a full-time clinical faculty position.  Academic appointment in the Duke School of Medicine is based on academic portfolio.  Clinical activities will be conducted at Duke Employee Occupational Health and Wellness (EOHW), which provides services for over 45,000 faculty and staff employed by the University and Health System.  Responsibilities include direct, evidence-based patient care for work-related injury/illness/exposure, clinical toxicology, impairment ratings, fitness for duty assessments, and medical surveillance.  Administrative duties include Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) reviews, institutional and departmental policy development, and initiating and managing employee wellness and assistance programs.  EOHW is a highly collaborative OEM practice, relying on a multidisciplinary approach to emerging issues including infectious agents, violence prevention, emergency preparedness, and complex fitness for duty evaluations.  You would be joining a robust team including five other OEM-boarded faculty.

Responsibilities also include instruction and supervision of OEM and off-service residents and medical students, as well as the potential for clinical research.  Experience in an academic health care setting is considered a positive factor.  Please visit the Duke Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Web site for additional information: http://dukeoccmed.mc.duke.edu/  If you are interested in finding out more about this opportunity please contact Carol Epling, MD MSPH or Kristen Said, MD MPH via email: carol.epling@duke.edu or kristen.said@duke.edu.
