The department of Theoretical Physics at the Jožef Stefan Institute is announcing a four year (2+2) postdoctoral position.

The position is fully funded for four years by the research grant N1-0253 from the Slovenian national research agency, led by Dr. Miha Nemevšek. The grant ``FLAMENCO: Flavor, Lepton number, And Mass Explorations of Neutrinos at the COmpact muon solenoid'' is a bilateral project with an experimental CMS group from Ghent University, led by Dr. Didar Dobur, and was awarded within the European WEAVE research scheme.

The recipient will be hosted by the particle physics group in a dynamic environment with regular events: international workshops, group retreats, seminars and summer schools. The vibrant community of 6 + 1 faculty members, 3 postdocs, 4 PhD students and regular visitors, offers many opportunities for collaboration. The topic of research concerns theory and phenomenology of BSM physics at present at future colliders, with the focus on new physics signals related to the origin of neutrino mass, heavy Majorana neutrinos and lepton number violation, displaced signatures and NLO corrections. The postdoc will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the CMS group and other external partners, including Dr. Richard Ruiz from Krakow.

Remuneration and duration: The funds cover the monthly salary, including pension and insurance, travel funds for workshops and visits and small equipment. The contract starts in October 2022 for the initial two years and is extended for another two years after the initial year, based on performance.

Prerequisites: The applicants with a PhD should have a strong record in collider physics, quantum field theory, Monte Carlo simulations and BSM physics related to neutrino masses.

Application: submit a pdf with a research statement and a CV with a list of publications, as well as two or three letters of recommendation be sent to miha.nemevsek@ijs.si

Deadline for application: Preference is given to applicants submitting before January 7th 2022.
