LEHIGH UNIVERSITY. The Department of Community and Population Health, College of Health (COH), invites applications for a non-tenure-track and non-tenured Teaching Faculty position in Biostatistics including individuals specializing in applications of Data Science to population health with an anticipated start date of July 2025. This position is a renewable, fixed-term, non-tenure-track, full-time position. The initial term of appointment is 3-5 years.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, or a closely related field by the date of employment. The individual hired will be expected to teach 6 classes per academic year (Fall and Spring) at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates will be expected to teach beginning through advanced topics in biostatistics, statistical literacy, and statistical programming in SAS, STATA, SPSS, R or Python, both to mathematically inclined students and to math-apprehensive students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They will also advise students in our undergraduate and graduate degree programs; will be expected to contribute to course development; and provide service to the department, college, and university.

While the position is not tenurable, Teaching Assistant Professors who develop excellent records in the areas of teaching and service are expected to become eligible for consideration for promotion to the rank of Teaching Associate Professor, and ultimately to the rank of Teaching Full Professor.

The COH offers undergraduate majors in Community and Global Health (BA), Health, Medicine, and Society (BA), Population Health (BS), Biostatistics/Health Data Science (BS), and Integrated Business and Health (BS), as well as graduate degrees including a Master of Public Health (MPH), an MS in Population Health Management, and PhD in Population Health. As our faculty grows, the COH will add a suite of graduate degrees in Health Data Science (certificate, MS, PhD), and more. The distinctive experiences of undergraduates and graduate students in the COH include an innovative curriculum, robust experiential learning opportunities, and integrated career and professional development. COH faculty also may participate in a variety of interdisciplinary research centers and institutes throughout the university.
