Description: The Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures is seeking to fill a tenure-track position in Migration and Diaspora Studies in East/Central European and Russian literatures and cultures. Viable candidates should have a background in the migration of persons and ideas across and outside of the region, as well as work in East European/Russian diaspora communities and their literatures/cultures, and in translation and interpreting of languages and literatures/cultures. We are particularly interested in candidates who explore the intersection of migration and narrative studies, migration and oral histories, interpretation as a skill, and languages in the professional spheres. Preferred qualifications include program experience, university teaching experience and experience mentoring members of underrepresented groups. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment, which is anticipated to be August 16, 2018.
