Lecturer Positions in Archaeology

The Stanford Department of Anthropology invites applications for multiple lecturer positions to teach for the department in 2027. These positions involve teaching for the department in either Winter or Spring quarter 2027 at either 50% FTE (where one would teach one course) or 100% FTE (where one would teach two courses). The salary is adjusted based on number of courses taught. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent qualification.

The primary role of these lectureships is to teach courses that attract a broad student population to the field of anthropological archaeology.  The course proposals should aim to have broad appeal and resonate with both anthropology and archaeology majors and non-majors.

The Lecturer should be knowledgeable in curriculum and course design, including effective pedagogy and equitable assessment.  In addition to instruction, the Lecturer will be responsible for holding office hours and mentoring students.

The expected base pay range for this position is $17,500 - $27,500.
