OPPORTUNITIES TO CONTRIBUTE — • Provide technical and logistical support for the astronomy lab courses in the Physics department. • Maintain the Physics Observatory facility, the telescopes, and other scientific equipment at the observatory. • Oversee the operation of the Observatory and provide technical support to users of the facility. • Plan, implement, and oversee outreach activities at the Observatory, such as viewing nights and programs for local K-12 schools. • Plan and implement development of the Observatory including acquisition of new equipment. • Provide technical and logistical support for new teaching activities at the Observatory, such as development of new courses and independent study projects. QUALIFICATIONS — • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 5 years of related work experience in observational astronomy. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS — • Use and maintenance of astronomical telescopes. • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. SALARY — • Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
