The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Associate Dean for Advanced Practice and Leadership Programs reporting to the Dean of the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing. This position provides leadership for the curriculum, faculty, students, and evaluation of the Advanced Practice and Leadership Programs. The Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing is part of UMass Chan Medical School’s academic health science center and is dedicated to preparing nurse scientists, advanced practice nurses, nurse educators, and nurse leaders who improve health care in Massachusetts and beyond. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with executive leadership to provide leadership, administrative oversight, and program development to align with the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing. • Lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Advanced Practice and Leadership programs, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, professional competencies, and state and national regulatory requirements. • Collaborate with program directors, track coordinators, faculty, and staff to support program operations, curriculum innovation, student success, and faculty excellence. • Oversee program planning, budgeting, assessment, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives to achieve programmatic and institutional goals. • Foster and maintain partnerships with healthcare organizations, clinical affiliates, professional organizations, and regulatory agencies to strengthen clinical education and advance program objectives. • Promote student recruitment, admissions, retention, progression, and graduation through collaboration with enrollment management, student affairs, and academic leadership. • Mentor and support faculty and academic leaders in teaching, scholarship productivity and dissemination, leadership development, and professional advancement. • Support faculty and the Program Directors in addressing student academic and disciplinary concerns, which include appropriate interventions, remediation, and progression processes. • Represent the Advanced Practice and Leadership Programs on School, University, and external committees, task forces, and professional organizations. • Collaborates with the T.H. Chan Medical School and Morning side Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. • Utilize program outcome data and performance metrics to guide strategic decision-making, accreditation activities, and continuous quality improvement efforts. • Maintain a record of teaching, an active program of scholarship, and service consistent with faculty rank and institutional expectations. Required Qualifications • Massachusetts RN/NP licensure or eligibility for licensure. • Doctoral preparation (DNP or PhD) in Nursing • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner • A minimum of 5 years of successful administrative experience in an academic setting • Experience as an educator in higher education • Record of scholarship commensurate with appointment at Associate or Full Professor Preferred Qualifications • Active clinical practice • Online teaching experience • Successful faculty mentoring and development • Experience with graduate nursing accreditation processes Salary range: $154,306-$211,293 The position will remain open until filled. Offers are typically made within the starting range to allow for future growth and development within the role.
