Physics and Astronomy/High Energy Nuclear Theory, University of California, Los Angeles

The high energy nuclear theory group at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the group of Prof. Zhongbo Kang. The start date is provisionally Fall 2019, but with substantial flexibility for applicants who need to start earlier. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear or particle physics by the beginning of the postdoctoral appointment.

The research interests of the group are primarily in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and strong interaction, and their applications in high energy nuclear and particle physics. The recent main research topics include: hadron physics (QCD structure of the nucleon and spin physics); QCD collider physics (jets, jet substructure, heavy flavor); heavy ion physics (hard scattering in nucleus and heavy ion collisions).
