The Georgia Institute of Technology’s School of Architecture (SoA) invites applications for the Ventulett NEXT Generation Visiting Fellowship position for the 2019-20 academic year. This is a two-year, full-time appointment beginning Fall 2019, with a review and evaluation after the first year. The NEXT Fellows is an initiative in the SoA intended to attract candidates who are at the beginning of their careers and interested in interdisciplinary teaching and research that merges design, technology, and culture.

NEXT Fellows will be expected to teach design studios and/or seminars/workshops at both the undergraduate and graduate level and participate actively in the life of the School. The workshops can be used to assist the Fellow in his/her own directed research that will result in a public exhibition and lecture at the School. NEXT Fellows will be given an unparalleled opportunity to advance their own individual interests through teaching and design research utilizing the full resources of the College of Design including our Digital Fabrication & Robotics Laboratory that houses a suite of industrial-scale CNC equipment. Fellows will be encouraged to conduct interdisciplinary work with faculty from other schools within the College of Design and across campus, including computing, engineering, and sciences, and will be given support in making these connections. Fellows will also have the opportunity to work with SoA research faculty and Ph.D. students on projects of common interest.

Candidates should have at least two years of teaching experience in design studios and should have a demonstrated capacity for the integration of technology and critical thinking into architectural design. Candidates must have a terminal degree of a Master of Architecture or greater.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Each Fellow also receives a stipend to support research-related expenses.

The School of Architecture is one of five schools within the College of Design. Other schools include Industrial Design, Building Construction, City and Regional Planning and Music. The SoA has 330 students in five degree programs: B.S. in Architecture (192 students), Master of Architecture (85 students), M.S. in Architecture (22 students), M.S. in Urban Design (15 students), and a Ph.D. in Architecture (48 students).
