Duke Kunshan University (DKU) invites applications for faculty positions in the natural sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, and Neuroscience. These positions are open with regard to rank including tenured, tenure track and non-tenure track. We are especially interested in considering advanced assistant professors to full professors. These positions are open with regard to sub-field. Besides our general interest in each area, in some areas we are especially interested in:
In Fall, 2018, DKU will launch an innovative, integrated and interdisciplinary liberal arts undergraduate program leading to both Duke and DKU degrees. Students interested in sciences will be immersed in foundational core courses integrating mathematics, computational science and statistics; concepts, knowledge, and methodologies in biology, chemistry and physics; theories and experiments, as well as a common set of university-wide courses on China, global challenges, and ethics. Areas of study in sciences include, but are not limited to, Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science and Design, Biophysics, Cognitive Science, Environmental Science, Global Health and Material Science, in addition to disciplinary areas of studies in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Faculty will have the unique opportunity to pioneer, lead and implement an interdisciplinary and integrated natural science curriculum and to conduct research in the related fields. These positions may start as early as Fall 2018 or begin a year later. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in an appropriate field. Postdoctoral research experience and teaching experience is desirable, as is experience in working in an interdisciplinary setting. Successful candidates should show a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts and sciences curriculum. Research and scholarship are also highly valued.
