The Scientific Computing Division (SCD) of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory seeks highly qualified candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position to work on the ICARUS experiment as part of the Fermilab neutrino physics program.

The position will also involve an opportunity to work on advanced techniques for analyzing neutrino oscillation data and neutrino cross section data on leadership class “supercomputing” facilities. This work is part the DOE SciDAC-4 sponsored research program involving the optimization of HEP particle interaction generators and the development of new data analysis tools and techniques for the HEP community that can leverage the computing power of the current and next generation of supercomputing

Details on the SciDAC-4 program and on the HEP on High Performance Computing (HPC) research can be found at and web sites.

The successful candidates will be expected to contribute substantially to leading research efforts and physics analysis on their experiment. In tandem, they will work closely with researchers at Fermilab, Argonne National Lab and Lawrence Berkeley National lab on developing and applying advanced computational tools for neutrino physics analysis in a high performance computing (HPC) environment.

The SCD is committed to designing research programs for Fermilab Research Associate that produce physics results and strengthen their career development paths.
