Position Description:    

Research Scientist/Software Engineer- Algorithm Developers for new Climate Machine (CliMa)

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and partner institutions are developing a new climate model that will be trained with global observations and targeted local high-resolution simulations of clouds and turbulence. Funded by a consortium of high profile philanthropic organizations, MIT will focus on the ocean component of the CliMa. The overall effort aims to create a brand new disruptive set of highly-scalable climate simulation tools, designed for both modeling and for integration with machine learning training methods

You will program in Julia, Python, and C, and collaborate with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and applied mathematicians, spanning MIT, Caltech and the Naval Postgraduate School. 

We prefer for you to have:

- Experience with high-performance parallel computing; - Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and interacting cross-functionally with a wide variety of people; - Experience with computational fluid dynamics or related field;
