Position Description:    

San Francisco State University, Department of Biology seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Microbiology, with an emphasis in Virology and/or Immunology, beginning August 2019. We are particularly interested in individuals who use contemporary molecular approaches to investigate topics such as pathogenesis, host-microbe interactions, virology, immunology, virome/microbiome or proteomics. Applicants must be committed to developing an externally funded research program and contributing to both undergraduate and M.S. graduate programs through teaching and mentorship of student research. Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience in a related field are required. Candidates must have an active record of research related to their specialty area as well as evidence of the potential for external funding of these activities.
