Position Description:

*** The account for Physics, Florida State University has expired, and no new applications is accepted. ***

The theoretical high energy physics group at the Florida State University in Tallahassee, invites applications for two postdoctoral positions in theoretical high energy physics, one in precision calculation for collider physics and the other in physics beyond the Standard Model. The positions will be granted for two years, contingent upon funding, with a possible extension for a third year. The positions are expected to be filled by Fall 2019. Appointments at earlier starting dates can be considered.

Our theory group has four faculty members, Fernando Febres Cordero, Takemichi Okui, Laura Reina, and Kohsaku Tobioka, two postdocs, and several graduate students. Research interests of the group include collider physics, the computation of radiative corrections in field theories, and broadly physics beyond the Standard Model.

One position will focus on modern techniques for the computation of multi-loop scattering amplitudes for precision physics at the LHC, while the other on physics beyond the Standard Model especially (but not limited to) collider phenomenology, astroparticle physics, cosmology, and also other non-collider experiments. The applicants will be encouraged to collaborate with local Ph.D. students and postdocs as well as to take advantage of the ample expertise in theoretical and experimental particle physics in the Physics Department.

Please apply through the portal https://academicjobsonline.org. The application should include a cover letter, a CV, a research statement and a list of publications. The applicant should also arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be submitted through the same portal. Priority will be given to applications received by December 7th, 2018, when the process of reviewing applications will start. Submissions will be considered until the positions are filled.
