Clinical Faculty Position

DESCRIPTION

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Ohio State University invites applications from outstanding individuals for a non–tenure–track clinical faculty position as a professor of practice in the broad area of mechanical engineering. This position will be expected to teach core undergraduate and graduate courses in engineering mechanics, advise MS and PhD students, and provide intellectual leadership in their field. The search preference is for individuals at the assistant professor level, but all will be considered. The undergraduate curriculum in mechanical engineering has a strong emphasis on experiential learning, and the expectation is that a successful candidate for this position will be prepared to develop and teach new courses in engineering mechanics that emphasize laboratory experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have, by the start date, an earned doctoral degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. Prior experience in successfully teaching courses in the areas of primary interest noted below is required. Successful applicants for the position will possess expertise across the core areas of the discipline, but also possess a strong background in engineering mechanics, including experimental mechanics.
