Research Faculty Position

DESCRIPTION

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Ohio State University invites applications from outstanding individuals for a non-tenured research faculty position in the area of systems modeling and control. This position will be expected to develop and sustain active sponsored research programs, advise MS and PhD students, and provide intellectual leadership and exhibit outstanding scholarship in their research field. This position will be affiliated with OSU’s Simulation Innovation and Modeling Center (SIMCenter). The search preference is for individuals at the assistant professor level, but all will be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have, by the start date, an earned doctoral degree in mechanical engineering, and at least 5 years of dynamical systems and control research. Successful applicants for the position will possess expertise in the following areas: 1) control systems; 2) systems engineering (e.g. control-oriented modeling, model based design, software validation and verification, uncertainty analysis); and/or 3) estimation and prognosis. The applicant’s main application area should be automotive, but should have a desire to expand into other areas.
