The Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience at Boston University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer beginning September 1, 2019, pending final teaching needs and renewable based on satisfactory performance. We seek a colleague with a commitment to undergraduate education and a track record of excellence in teaching to oversee our core introductory teaching laboratories, including instruction of lab sections during fall and spring, supervision of undergraduate assistants, and planning and development of the lab program in consultation with Course Directors. Teaching responsibilities include four to six lab sections of a second-year systems neuroscience lab during the fall semester, and four to six lab sections of a first-year cellular neurobiology lab during the spring semester.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in neuroscience or a related field, 3-5 years of laboratory and teaching experience, including curriculum development, a commitment to evidence-based teaching practices and incorporating research into teaching. Emphasis in cellular and molecular neurobiology and systems neuroscience. Preferred qualifications: work experience in the field of instructional laboratory support, advising and working with undergraduates. Knowledge of processes, regulations, and policies for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and EH&S.

The position will involve active engagement in the academic life of the undergraduate neuroscience program, including service as an academic advisor to a cohort of undergraduate neuroscience majors, serving on Senior Thesis committees, and contributing to the development of academic initiatives.
